Here’s what Sony had to say about the PlayStation VR2 on an official PlayStation Podcast: On one hand, we sort of saw this coming. On the other hand, we’d hoped that Sony would at least make it so that the PSVR 2 could play PSVR 1 games, just like how the PS5 supports PS4 titles. The original PSVR didn’t have the most extensive video game library. However, it’s still a shame that some of the games that were released exclusively on the PSVR will be forgotten. The games like Robinson: The Journey and Golem will likely be left to rot since they’re not available on other VR platforms. The good news is that Sony is preparing 20 “major” games for the PSVR2 early next year. Given the solid lineup we saw at June’s State of Play showcase, we’re inclined to believe that Sony will deliver. Speaking of the PSVR2, fans recently got a chance to try out the upcoming VR console at the Tokyo Game Show over the weekend.
