It’s a warzone, plain and simple. However, if you want to play through Cyberpunk 2077, you’ll have no choice but to navigate it all. With that said, we’ve decided to help make things easier for you below in our Cyberpunk 2077 gangs guide, where we rank all the gangs and corporations to let you know who rules what and where.

Gangs

6th Street

6th Street is one of the oldest gangs in Cyberpunk 2077. The group can trace their roots from American patriots who decided to take up arms and protect their community following the fallout from the war between the two megacorporations, Militech and Arasaka. These days, the 6th Street gang is less patriotic and more self-serving. They’ve been known to collect “protection money” from small businesses operating in the districts of Heywood and Santo Domingo. The 6th Street gang is also known to have a heated rivalry with the Valentinos. The 6th Street gang seems to be heavily inspired by the Grove Street gang from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, with a couple of Easter Eggs seemingly confirming this.

Animals

The Animals are a gang that’s notorious for their aggression and for using a variety of means to increase their physical power. They use either cyberware, animal supplements, and drugs, or a combination of all three. The Animals are constantly at odds against the Voodoo Boys as the two fight over their respective territories in the Pacifica district.

Maestrom

Similar to the Animals, the Maelstrom gang are also obsessed with augmenting themselves using cyberware. However, unlike the Animals, the Maelstrom use cyberware to enhance their cybernetics. Some even reach a point where they’re no longer able to remember who they are anymore, entering a state known as “cyber psychosis” where they become a danger to themselves and everyone around them.

Moxes

Formed following the death of Elizabeth “Lizzie” Borden who was a staunch supporter of the rights of sex workers and other outcasts, the Moxes work together to protect sex workers from potential abuse all across Night City. The Moxes are at constant odds against the Tyger Claws gang, who are responsible for their formation after their murder of Lizzie.

Scavengers

The Scavengers are the go-to gang for black-market stuff, including but not limited to, human organs and cyberware. This gang is driven purely by greed and operates throughout the entirety of Night City.

Tyger Claws

Primarily located in Japantown, the Tyger Claws gang is one of the most powerful gangs in Night City. However, instead of relying on using cyberware and cybernetic implants, the gang operates similarly to the real-life Japanese mafia better known as the Yakuza.

Valentinos

The Valentinos are the primary rivals of the 6th Street gang and are known for their sense of community, as well as honor. The gang apparently has no ulterior motives or goals outside of protecting their territory.

Voodoo Boys

The Voodoo Boys are known for their proficiency in net running and edge running. They specialize in using cyber warfare to gain information, make threats, and wage war. In addition to their rivalry against the Animals gang for encroaching on their territory, the Voodoo Boys are constantly under watch from NetWatch, who are responsible for policing the Net and protecting it from hackers, namely, the Voodoo Boys.

Corporations

Militech

The world of Cyberpunk 2077 is primarily governed by wealthy megacorporations. However, none are bigger than Militech. They are one of the biggest providers of military equipment and have a private military force that rivals that of other nations. In essence, Militech is a private military organization that offers mercenary services to those who can offer to pay. We mean anyone, including terrorists. Although Militech is the top dog, they are not without rivals. Arasaka, for example, is a close second, and together, they are responsible for the Fourth Corporate War, which decimated much of Night City half a decade before the events of the game.

Arasaka

A family-run organization, the Arasaka Corporation specializes in manufacturing and distributing Japanese merchandise all over the world. Unlike Militech, who specializes in mercenary work, Arasaka is more covert in their movements. They’ve been known to use hitmen and assassins to kill whoever stands in their way.

Trauma Team International

The Trauma Team International is a smaller megacorporation that offers paramedical services across multiple cities throughout the entire world in Cyberpunk 2077. The megacorporation functions similarly to other medical emergency service providers in real life. They can be reached by dialing 911 on any phone and will arrive at the scene of the crime or emergency within 3 minutes or less.

Kang Tao

Kang Tao is a megacorporation and arms dealer that specializes in the manufacture of Smart weaponry. Kang Tao seems to be planning on following in the footsteps of Militech. By the events of Cyberpunk 2077, the megacorporation has been seen to offer military and mercenary services to the highest bidder.
