The producer revealed that filming for Captain America 4 will start next spring and it has an excellent script. In a recent interview with Collider, Moore gave fans a quick update about the upcoming Captain America movie. “We are in pre-production,” the producer states. “We start shooting next spring. We do [have a script we’re very happy with].” Moore’s latest statement coincides with Captain America: New World Order director Julius Onah’s earlier announcement regarding the filming of the movie. At the time, the director said the film will begin filming early in 2023. Onah’s involvement in the film was announced during the San Diego Comic-Con. Julius Onah is best known for directing the movies The Cloverfield Paradox and Luce. This will be his directorial debut in the MCU. Malcolm Spellman will be teaming up with writer Dalan Musson in creating the script for the movie. Spellman and Musson previously worked together in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier mini-series. According to reports, the movie will be a continuation of the events of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Danny Ramirez and Carl Lumbly will be reprising their roles as Joaquin Torres and Isaiah Bradley from the Disney+ series. Tim Blake Nelson will be making his MCU debut in the movie as the villain The Leader. Nelson previously played the character in The Incredible Hulk. Harrison Ford will join the cast as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, replacing William Hurt who recently passed away. Ford will also appear in the Thunderbolts movie, which will reportedly “drop a bomb”, as per David Harbour. Shira Haas is set to play as Sabra in the upcoming Captain America film. The character has generated some controversy given her origins in comic books. Marvel issued a statement that the character will be “freshly imagined for the screen and today’s audience, and the filmmakers are taking a new approach with the character Sabra who was first introduced in the comics over 40 years ago.” Captain America 4 is the penultimate film of Phase 5 of the MCU.
